Why I Built Amalanku: A Reminder for My Fellow Believers

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

This piece begins with a concern. Not a pessimistic one, but the kind of concern one believer has for another—a concern filled with hope and prayer.

A Concern That Motivates

As a Muslim living in this modern era, I often reflect on our spiritual condition. Many of us—myself included—live in environments that aren’t entirely Islamic. We’re surrounded by worldly busyness, work demands, and the hustle and bustle of life that makes us easily forget our obligations and responsibilities as servants of Allah.

I worry about you.

I worry that we’re late in performing our prayers because we’re absorbed in activities. I worry that we skip morning and evening dhikr because we’re rushing. I worry that we rarely read the Quran despite wanting to be consistent. I worry that we lose track of our daily acts of worship that should be our provisions in the hereafter.

And what concerns me most: we forget, not because we don’t care, but because our environment doesn’t remind us.

A Calm Solution, Not a Judgmental One

From that concern, Amalanku was born.

I didn’t want to create a judgmental app. I didn’t want notifications that feel like harsh reprimands. I wanted to create a gentle reminder—like a friend who taps your shoulder warmly and says, “It’s time for prayer.”

Amalanku provides daily offline notifications about obligatory and sunnah acts of worship in a calm and compassionate manner. No pressure, no judgment. Just a reminder: “It’s time to return to Him.”

Your Privacy is the Priority

I’m someone who hates apps with excessive analytics. I also deeply despise intrusive ads, especially during worship.

That’s why in Amalanku:

✅ Absolutely no ads

✅ No analytics

✅ No login or registration required

✅ Data stored locally on your device

✅ Offline-capable—most features work without internet

✅ Zero tracking—your activity is completely private

Your privacy in worship is a right that must be protected. The app only pulls data from the server (like prayer schedules and Islamic content), but never sends your personal data anywhere.

There’s even an App Lock feature with pattern or PIN, so your personal worship remains secure even though the app is offline.

Flexibility for Every Muslim

Every person has different preferences and abilities in worship. Some are just beginning their spiritual journey, others have been consistent for years. Some want to focus on obligations, others want to add sunnah practices.

Therefore, Amalanku divides worship tasks into 3 categories:

1. Essential — Obligatory Acts

Acts that are obligations for every Muslim, such as the five daily prayers, Ramadan fasting, and other fundamental duties.

2. Growing — Sunnah & Daily Good Deeds

For those who want to enhance the quality of their worship with sunnah practices like Monday-Thursday fasting, Duha prayer, morning-evening dhikr, charity, and other daily good deeds.

3. Custom — Community-Contributed Acts

Worship acts contributed by other users. This opens space for diversity in worship and sharing inspiration among users.

Monthly Worship Report: Your Spiritual Reflection

Amalanku comes with a monthly worship report that you can use to:

  • Reflect on your worship consistency
  • Share progress with family or friends (optional)
  • Maintain motivation to stay consistent
  • Evaluate areas that need improvement

This report isn’t meant to judge, but to empower you to become a better Muslim day by day.

Reactive and Calming Design

The reactive primary colors and calm interface are designed so that your worship experience isn’t disrupted by excessive visual elements. Every interaction is designed to provide tranquility, not distraction.

Reactive reminders ensure you get notifications at the right time, in the right way—not excessive, not intrusive, but just enough to bring awareness.

Closing: This is for All of Us

I built Amalanku not because I’m perfect in worship. Quite the opposite—I built it because I also need reminders. I’m also human, easily forgetful, easily distracted, and often need a gentle nudge to return to His path.

This app is for all of us—for you, for me, for our fellow believers who want to be consistent but often lose direction in the chaos of life.

Let’s remind each other in goodness. Let’s guard our faith together.

Download Amalanku now and start your spiritual journey calmly, privately, and meaningfully.
